Rethinking masculinity. Rebuilding connection.
Unpacking Masculinity is an 8-week voluntary group for men* who want to better understand their relationship patterns and make meaningful changes in how they respond to themselves and others. This group explores how messages about masculinity can affect emotions, communication, and behaviour in relationships. Participants are supported in building self-awareness, strengthening accountability, and developing tools for respectful, non-harmful relationships.
Participants will have opportunities to:
- Reflect on how beliefs about masculinity shape relationships
- Build awareness of emotions and how they influence behaviour
- Explore patterns such as defensiveness, shame, and rumination
- Strengthen accountability by focusing on the impact of actions
- Identify personal values and align them with behaviour
- Learn practical strategies for healthier communication and responses
- Support ongoing personal growth and positive change
Note: This group is designed to complement other accountability-based supports and does not replace programs such as Partner Assault Response (PAR).
