Wrapped In Courage
The Wrapped in Courage scarf is more than just a scarf. It is a sign for survivors of gender-based violence that they are not alone. Purchase and wear your purple scarf or tie this November during Woman Abuse Prevention month to show your commitment to ending femicide and all forms of gender-based violence. Proceeds from the sale of every scarf directly supports essential shelter and support services at Nova Vita.
How Can You Purchase Yours?
- STEP 1: Complete the order form, and select which scarf you’d love to wear in November. Download it here!
- STEP 2: Submit the completed order form to jpowless@novavita.org
- STEP 3: Nova Vita will contact you to arrange delivery or pick-up!
Delivery within Brantford city limits is available for a small fee of $5. Pick-up is available for free and can be arranged in advance.

Flag Raisings & Proclamations
In addition to the sale of purple scarves, the Wrapped in Courage campaign is mobilizing Violence Against Women (VAW) shelters across Ontario to remind everyone that now more than ever, violence continues to be the greatest inequality rights issue for women and girls. Wrapped In Courage flags will be raised throughout the month of November, and across the province to show survivors of intimate partner violence that they are not alone.

Closet Couture Boutique
Closet Couture Boutique closed it’s doors after 11 years in operation on December 9, 2023.
Over 10 years, across 2 locations, and through a global pandemic, Closet Couture Boutique worked tirelessly to upcycle generous clothing donations with the purpose of raising much needed funds for our emergency shelter.
With our lease agreement ending and the rising costs of operating a retail store front, we made the difficult decision to close our doors at 415 Fairview Drive in order to focus on our vital programs and services for women and families impacted by violence and homelessness.
We are incredibly grateful for the love and support we have received over the years from our caring community through the donation of new and like-new clothing, through the countless hours served by our dedicated volunteers and staff, and through the loyal customers who have supported Nova Vita by shopping at Closet Couture Boutique. Thank you for 10 years of wonderful memories and making a difference for our community.
