At Nova Vita, we are committed to offering help, hope, and healing to women and their families impacted by domestic violence and homelessness. But we can’t do it alone. Your help will make a difference by raising essential funds, raising awareness, and raising your voice to end domestic violence.

For many women, living in violence is also living in silence. They feel trapped, experience increased isolation, do not feel safe in their own home, and often feel alone and voiceless. Be a voice to break the silence on domestic violence!

  1. Register: In solidarity for women who are living in silence, go silent for 24 hours on November 24 to raise awareness and essential funding to support women escaping abuse. After 24 hours, break your silence to help end domestic violence. Register and build your individual or team campaign at canadahelps.org. Be sure to set a goal. All participants who raise $100 or more will receive a Nova Vita cotton mask.
  2. Spread The Word: Share your commitment to the campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues. Use social media to have your followers support or join your campaign. Raising awareness about violence against women in your community and sharing resources will make a difference. The more you share, the more awareness it brings to our essential support services like our 24hr Crisis & Support Line. People in abusive relationships may not be able to connect with Nova Vita on social media, which is why your posts and shares are so important. Your post could save a life.
  3. Be Silent: During your 24 hour commitment to go silent, you may not be able to speak, but there are plenty of ways to communicate. Text, write, sign, carry a whiteboard; get creative to stay connected! Challenge yourself for every word spoken to donate $1 or $5 to Nova Vita.
  4. Break The Silence On November 25th: On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, break your silence! Share your experience, share resources, and share how much you raised to end violence in your community. Your commitment helps others to be aware, learn the signs of violence in relationships, become advocates, and to learn the programs and support services Nova Vita offers for all members of our community.
