Children’s Program:
Residential Support
Our residential shelter is a child-friendly facility that has both indoor and outdoor play areas. Our Child & Youth Workers and Early Childhood Educator provide individual and group support to both moms and children while staying at Nova Vita. Information and support is offered at development-appropriate levels through our Children’s Program; from our STEP program for babies, to school-aged programs and homework help, to adolescent support.
This program is only available through our emergency residential program.
Children’s Program:
Counselling
Individual counselling is available for children/adolescents (ages 5-16) who have witnessed high-conflict or domestic violence in the home.

Child Witness Program
This group program is for children who have witnessed violence or abuse against their mothers. Children and adolescents, aged 4 to 16, meet in small age-appropriate groups to discuss the impact of the abuse they witnessed against their mother. At the same time, mothers attend their own separate sessions to address the impact of abuse on their children and themselves.
