Nova Vita’s proactive and innovative approach to ending the cycle of violence involves close working relationships with the police, Victims Services of Brant, the Sexual Assault Centre of Brant, school boards and many other local organizations and social service agencies. The Children’s Aid Society of Brant, the City of Brantford – Ontario Works and Housing Resource Centre, the Brant County Health Unit and Addictions Services of Brant provide on-site services for Nova Vita clients.
- BRAVE Committee: Nova Vita is currently the co-chair of the B.R.A.V.E (Brant’s Response Against Violence Everywhere) committee, a committee composed of 21 organizations providing services to victims of domestic violence. Additionally, as Chair of BRAVE, Nova Vita is the lead organization in a 24 month Status of Women Canada project “No More” campaign – a community engagement project to engage young men and boys in partnership with women an girls to help end gender based violence in our community.
- Emergency Service Providers Committee: Nova Vita is chair of a committee composed of hostel providers, shelter providers and domiciliary hostel providers – the committee’s purpose is to monitor trends, identify gaps in service and share information.
